Garlic mashed potatoes with pink pepper

The flecks of pink pepper really make this version of mashed potatoes unique. While pink pepper looks like black pepper, they are in different families and are not related. Pink pepper has an almost fruity scent. When it's freshly ground, it's quite an amazing scent. Try this fast and easy version of mashed potatoes and dazzle your guests this Thanksgiving!

INGREDIENTS

2 (393g) potato
3 cloves (15g) garlic
½ cup (50g) Parmesan cheese, grated 1 minute
½ cup (120g) cream
2 tbsps (28g) butter
½ tsp (3g) salt
½ tsp (3g) pink pepper, freshly ground 1 minute
1 (197g) white sweet potato

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a vegetable steamer, steam the potatoes until soft and tender, about 30-40 minutes. 30 minutes
  2. Using a Microplane zester/grater, zest the garlic. 1 minute
  3. When the potatoes are cool enough to handle, peel the skins off. 3 minutes
  4. Mash the potatoes to your desired consistency and add the rest of the ingredients. 3 minutes
  5. Mix thoroughly and serve while hot! 1 minute
