Vegetarian Tonkatsu


Vegetarian tonkatsu

While tonkatsu is typically made with pork, I've made this vegetarian and it's as simple as regular tonkatsu. This is a quick and easy dinner entree for those nights when you have so little time.

INGREDIENTS

Tonkatsu

2 (168g) burger patty, vegetarian
1 (50g) egg, beaten 1 minute
1 tbsp (8g) all-purpose flour
2 tbsps (14g) panko

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. On medium high heat, heat an inch of oil in a frying pan. 1 minute
  2. Defrost the burger patties according to its package. 1 minute
  3. Cut each patty in half and toss in flour. 1 minute
  4. Toss the patties in the beaten egg. 1 minute
  5. Cover each patty with panko. 1 minute
  6. When the oil is hot, fry each patty until golden brown on both sides. 5 minutes
  7. Serve hot with rice or ramen, topped with teriyaki sauce! 1 minute
