Potato au gratin

This delicious, rich dish will satisfy any picky eaters in your family. It's also very simple and quick to prepare, especially when you've prepared the Mornay sauce ahead of time. Try it for dinner tonight!

INGREDIENTS

All Ingredients

1 (183g) potato, sliced thinly 10 minutes
1 cup (120g) Mornay sauce See Recipe
½ cup (120g) milk
1 tbsp (12g) garlic, minced
2 sprigs (12g) thyme
¼ tsp (2g) salt
1 tbsp (6g) panko

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat the oven to 375F degrees. 1 minute
  2. Add all the ingredients, except the garlic and thyme, to a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Cook for about 10 minutes on low heat until the potato slices are almost cooked, but not quite. We will finish cooking in the oven. 10 minutes
  3. Drain the potato slices and reserve the sauce. 5 minutes
  4. In a baking dish, spread half of the minced garlic and half of the thyme leaves in a layer. 1 minute
  5. Spoon some sauce in the baking dish and begin layering on the potato slices one at a time, evenly. Pour remaining sauce on top and sprinkle top with panko and remaining garlic and thyme leaves. 5 minutes
  6. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for about 30 minutes. 30 minutes
  7. Uncover the baking dish and bake for another 15 minutes or until the slices are fully tender and the top is crispy and brown. 15 minutes
  8. Serve immediately while hot! 1 minute
