Quick easy homemade pesto

The secret ingredients in our pesto are a touch of mint and the savory flavor of Gruyere. Pesto is easy to make and can last a long time in the fridge. Great for pastas, sandwiches, or pizza!


All Ingredients

1 bulb (70g) garlic, peeled 5 minutes
2 cups (40g) basil, including stems
15 leafs (7g) mint
½ cup (70g) pine nuts
1 cup (50g) Gruyere cheese, shredded 1 minute
cup (70g) olive oil
1 tsp (6g) salt


  1. Snip the basil leaves off its stems. We do not want the tougher stem texture. 1 minute
  2. Combine all the ingredients except the olive oil in a food processor. 1 minute
  3. Turn the food processor on low speed, and slowly add the olive oil while processing. 1 minute
  4. Process until smooth and creamy. 1 minute
  5. Place in a storage container and press a layer of plastic wrap directly on top of the pesto to prevent the basil from oxidizing. You can also pour a layer of olive oil on top to prevent oxidation. Store in the refrigerator. 1 minute
